Friday, November 13th and 20th at 7pm Saturday, November 14th and 21st at 7pm Sunday, November 15th at 2pm
All Shows take place in the Matesich Theatre, located on the 2nd floor of Erskine Hall.
All members of the ODU Community receive complementary admission to Panther Player productions with their ODU ID.
Tickets for guest and members of the general public are a very reasonable $5 (Children 5 and under free).
George Bernard Shaw’s Pygmalion, the inspiration behind renowned musical My Fair Lady, illustrates the age-old battle of the sexes and of the heart. Henry Higgins, a prideful phonetics professor, fashions a bet with warm colleague Colonel Pickering that he will be able to successfully pass off a poor flower girl, the independent Eliza Doolittle, as a refined aristocratic lady by teaching her how to speak with an upper class accent, and by training her in Victorian etiquette. As Eliza’s elegance blossoms, so does her relationship with Professor Higgins, but will the two hardheaded characters ever be able to get along? Higgins’ bet may just be a recipe for disaster.
Service Project: For the second show in a row, the ODU Panther Players are again connecting with J.O.I.N. charities to serve those less fortunate in the Columbus Community. Outside of each performance will be a collection box for new and gently used winter jackets and apparel. There is a great need for those who live in the inter city to have warm clothing, please help us in our efforts.
