Institute of Reading Development
Date6/29/2014
DescriptionMany children lose ground in reading over the summer, and begin the school year at a level lower than what they achieved the previous year. Students in the Institute’s summer programs make substantial gains in reading skills and return to school with increased confidence and excitement about reading. Classes are offered at eight program levels, reaching students from 4 years old through adulthood. Students attend class once a week for five weeks. Between classes students follow a program of structured home practice, implementing the skills and strategies learned in class and developing good reading habits. In addition, parents receive the tools they need to support their children both during and after the program. (from Institute of Reading Development website)

Ohio Leadership Institute Middle School Camp
Date6/29/2014
DescriptionOhioLTC Middle School campers participate in leadership activities that build leadership skills, foster independent thinking and enhance good citizenship during this residential camp held on the campus of Ohio Dominican University. Campers in leadership groups attend lively workshops, dynamic leadership activities and action-oriented simulations in order to build and enhance leadership skills. Campers also have the opportunity to attend workshops to enhance participation in the Jr. Ohio Model United Nations program. (from Ohio Leadership Institute Website)

QBR Football Camp
Date7/1/2014
DescriptionQuarterback & Receiver Camp (QBR) is considered the premier fundamentals-based, non-contact football camp. Every camper is coached and treated as if he were a potential Heisman winner (Doug Flutie, 1984) and #1 NFL draft pick (David Carr, 2002 & Alex Smith, 2005). Our objective is to develop each player to his fullest potential and to teach the fundamentals of his position that are reinforced with hundreds of repetitions at each practice along with emphasizing character development and leadership. Quarterback & Receiver Camp is a NON-CONTACT three day/two night residential football skills camp. Quarterback and Receiver Camp’s primary goal is simple: To build a solid football foundation for each QB and receiver through the development of the fundamentals of throwing and catching a football. Quarterback and Receiver Camp believes that to reach one’s maximum potential an understanding of the core principles of each position is essential and will lead to future success. Each camper, regardless of age, ability or size, will maximize his abilities through position-specific drills and actions in nine on-field practices and five position meetings. Quarterback and Receiver Camp helps each camper recognize his strengths and weaknesses, enabling them to learn what their individual focus should be, and to give them the tools to work on these when they leave camp. Quarterback and Receiver Camp nurtures quarterbacks and receivers to be fundamentally sound, which will give them the opportunity to COMPETE for a starting spot at whatever level they’re playing. Quarterback and Receiver Camp is NOT a recruiting camp. We prepare players to be recruited! Quarterback and Receiver Camp’s coach to camper ratio averages 1:10, perfect for maximum repetitions with minimum fatigue. Campers rotate with their group through instructional stations where they learn specific drills, skills and actions and practice them repeatedly until they become habit.
